Project Smile (Projecto Sonrisa) is the name given to the Outreach Ministry used in Peru to reach some of the most impoverished areas with the love of God. During the Christmas Season Beacon Ministries Aides Iglesia Cristiana Casa De Luz to impact the lives of the children and families of the adopted area (Villa Maria Del Triunfo) by raising the needed funds to provide all the children with a nice quality toy and a traditional holiday meal. This years December 2011 event was a great success as we ministered to 157 children and a great majority of those children's mom's, dad's or present family member. All the kids received a nice quality toy (variety of toys sorted by age groups), paneton (fruitcake) and hot chocolate. They absolutely loved it. The Lord multiplied as we were also able to treat the accompanying parents and guardians with paneton and hot chocolate, a very typical but “expensive” treat for them for the holidays. Most of these kids would not have had a taste of paneton for the Christmas season a great treat for them. There was also face-painting and games for the children this year. About 45 children and adults gave their life to Jesus!!! When giving the toys to the kids the smiles on their faces were so life changing!!! Most of these children will not receive anything on Christmas day but with your generous contributions we were able to bless 157 children and impact their families lives with a tangible expression of love. They truly valued and cherished all that was done. We are believing that the next one will be greater and be able to reach and bless even more families. Back to School Outreach 2012
Through Projecto Sonrisa we are providing the children during the month of March (the beginning of their school year) with the needed school supplies for the new year. Supplies such as a backpack, notebooks and paper, pens, pencils, coloring utensils and much more such as a good pair of shoes to keep them through the school year. We also have an opportunity to share the gospel message with the children and their families. Keep us in prayer as we are believing to continue impacting the lives of families. There is no greater feeling than that of helping a child and putting a Smile on their face. With your contributions your making it possible. With your seed into the live of these precious little ones you will also be a recipient of the blessing of ministering to a child as in Mark 10:14b …“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
